Latent Ltd recently undertook its second major piece of work in the drilling field of the energy market marking a clear intention to diversify their knowledge, expertise and business.
Latent was contracted by Stena Drilling to complete the Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) study for Stena’s latest drilling ship, the DrillMAX1.
The DrillMAX1 is being constructed at the Samsung Heavy Industries Shipyard in South Korea so Fraser Calder, Latent’s Team Leader, was dispatched on the 24th of November to the Far East to facilitate a series of workshops with Stena DrillMAX1 and Carron staff. The workshops utilised the expertise on-hand and maintenance strategies already in-use on mature assets to successfully complete the RCM 2 days ahead of schedule.
After a highly successful trip to South Korea, Latent are now poised to take on the annual reviews of all Stena Drilling’s vessels.
With their expertise in maintenance and sparing strategies, Latent are hopeful they can quickly help Stena Drilling realise significant financial savings as well as improved reliability and productivity.
